Dear ,
Welcome to Chai Lights: The Giving Edition.
A special thanks to each of you for your ongoing support of our school. You are the reason for the many smiling faces being educated at this wonderful school!
December 31 is coming soon and there is no better time for year-end giving to HBHA! What a mitzvah to help our students develop into educated and service-minded Jewish adults. Once again, thank you for supporting HBHA.
Shabbat Shalom,
Howard Haas

Civic Service Award Celebration 2017

Our biggest fundraising event, the Civic Service Award Celebration, looms large on the horizon. It happens Sunday, March 26, 2017, and we’ve already planned a number of surprises, so save the date!
Our ad book volunteers are working hard:
  • Angie Smith, 913.231.1852, is reaching out to businesses who have previously advertised,
  • Stephanie Kavanaugh, 816.260.2696, is knocking on doors to solicit new business advertisers, and
  • Renana Abrams, 913.327.4620, is already accepting personal ads from HBHA families and friends.
Please contact them to receive information and secure your spot in this year’s program book. Sponsorship and ticket information coming soon!

Ma'ayan Society

Many of you received our Ma’ayan letter requesting your help.
Ma’ayan gifts are more important than ever at this time of year. If you haven’t responded yet, please renew your Ma’ayan membership or consider becoming a member of the Ma’ayan Society today!
It’s the perfect way for alumni, alum parents, grandparents and friends to make a difference to the education of our students. Your Ma’ayan membership helps to ease financial stress to ensure the continual flow of programming.

What is Academy Access Program?

You may not know this, but the actual cost of educating each HBHA student is approximately $17,000/year. Fortunately, the Academy Access Program enables us to make tuition more affordable for HBHA families across the board through tax deductible Access donations.
What Access has done for HBHA
Over the last 8 years, Access has:
  • Saved our families money
  • Reduced the need for financial assistance, and
  • Helped strengthen our numbers, which are steadily growing each year.
Access funds pay for programs that touch every child in school, including specials and elective classes, smaller class sizes and individualized attention in the classroom.
We thank those of you who have already given your Access gift. If you have not yet contributed, write your check to HBHA Foundation-Access or make your donation online

Join HBHA this #GivingTuesday (Nov. 29) by helping students who are experiencing food insecurity. This lack of money for food affects more people in our community than most realize.
Your support will help purchase meals for children who cannot afford it. All lunches purchased through this fund are Vaad supervised. Please help provide this basic need!
