The Talmid Program is an after school, teacher supervised program available to all Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy students in grades 2-12. In Talmid, students are able to reinforce previously learned skills or work on homework with the assistance of qualified educators. This program is offered Monday through Thursday for Middle and Upper School students and Tuesday through Thursday for Lower School students at no additional cost to the families. The program is not open on early dismissal days, the days prior to conferences or holidays and during the January Winterim session. Talmid is open to Lower School students from 3:45-5:15 p.m. Students in Lower School must be picked up by 5:15 p.m. Students will be given 2 warnings for lateness and then will not be allowed to attend Talmid for the balance of the semester. Students in Lower School will not be dismissed to go to the lobby or gym without written permission from a parent.
Middle and Upper School students may attend Talmid from 4:00-6:30 p.m. Students may make an appointment with a teacher on duty to work on a particular subject, or they may drop in to get tutoring. Last appointments should be made no later that 6:15 p.m.
Talmid begins August 31 for Middle and Upper School students and September 1 for Lower School students.
