LAUNCH
The LAUNCH program - Learning and Understanding Nature through Creativity and Hard Work – supports the academic needs of high achieving and gifted learners.

LAUNCH collaborates with the classroom teachers to address advanced learning needs in the general education classroom such that high achieving students have access to differentiated curriculum, flexible pacing, cluster groupings and other universal interventions available to all students in the regular classroom. Teachers, in differentiating curriculum, proactively modify curriculum, teaching methods, activities and resources to maximize each student’s learning opportunities. Data is collected and students are monitored throughout the year to ensure appropriate student growth.

When there is compelling evidence that the instructional modifications within the general education classroom have not met a student’s academic need, a referral will be made to the Care Team. The Care Team will assess the need for specialized educational services such as receiving support outside the regular classroom. The LAUNCH teacher provides this additional support.

HBHA dedicates a full-time position to the LAUNCH program to help ensure that all high achieving and gifted learners receive the rigor and challenge necessary for continued growth.
