School Visits, Arrival & Dismissal Procedures

In an effort to maintain the safety of HBHA children, please note the following procedures:

Visiting School

  • Please sign in at the office and take a visitor badge before entering the classroom areas of the school.
  • Parents are welcome to come in and observe classes.  Please contact the teacher ahead of time to schedule a classroom visit.

Lunch

  • Please feel free to come have lunch with your child.  We love having you here and students love sharing a private lunch with you.
  • Sign in at the office and meet your child at their room door at the designated lunch time.
  • Walk to lunch with the class.
  • If you would like to have a friend join your child for lunch, please prearrange with the teacher and we ask that you limit this to two friends.
  • Please only bring in food that meets the kosher policy.
  • Please sit in the cafeteria either with your child’s class or you may use the tables to the west of the cafeteria by the windows.
  • Please have your child finish all food and drinks in time to walk back to the room with their class.

Arrival and Dismissal

  • HBHA front office doors open at 7:30 am and close at 4:30 pm Monday through Thursday, and open at 7:30 am and close at 3:00 pm on Friday.   Students arriving prior to 7:30 am should enter through the main campus doors.
  • Class begins promptly at 7:55 AM.  Please drop off your child between 7:40-7:50 AM so they have time to get to the classroom and settle in before class begins at 7:55 AM.
  • Dismissal time is 3:40 PM Monday-Thursday and 2:50 PM on Friday.  We prefer that students dismiss and be picked up at the school circle drive.  The exception is kindergarteners which dismiss at 2:00 PM and are picked up at the north campus circle drive.
  • Please stay in your cars to drop off and pick up your child.
  • If you wish to come inside, visit with other parents or use the playground after school, please park in a space.  Parents are welcome to visit on the sidewalk while waiting for a student.  Parents pulling up in the wait line are encouraged to stay in their cars so the line can move quickly.
  • Children must be with a parent if using the playground equipment after school. Students may not play on the playground while waiting for ride to arrive. There is no supervision on the playground after school as teachers are supervising student pick up.
  • Students will exit from the north door and wait on the sidewalk pick up.
  • Students will come to you in the pick up line, you will not need to get out of your car to come get them.
  • Please set a good example for the children by always using the crosswalk during arrival and dismissal.  Please do not walk your child between cars.  A teacher will be posted at the crosswalk to stop traffic for safe crossing.
