Mike Bannen, Middle and Upper School Social Studies

I am so pleased to be a member of the HBHA faculty once again! My first time as an HBHA teacher was from 2008-2013 where I was the middle/upper school English and drama teacher.  This time around I am teaching middle/upper school social studies.  From 2013-2018 I was a graduate student and instructor at the University of Kansas where I earned a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.  My studies focused on the history and philosophy of education.  I have worked for numerous educational institutions in and around Kansas City including The Pembroke Hill School, the Kansas City Missouri School District, and Topeka Civic Theatre & Academy in Topeka, Kansas.  But, far and away HBHA is my favorite.  I love the students, the faculty, and the Jewish community.  I cannot think of anywhere else I would rather be!
