The successful candidate will: 

  • Have a strong background and understanding in progressive education
  • Have experience teaching elementary-aged students, specifically First Grade
  • Demonstrate knowledge of 21st Century skills, differentiated instruction, modeling and project-based learning
  • Have strong classroom management strategies and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Inspire a love of learning that will continue through Elementary and on to Middle and Upper School
  • Be committed to professional growth and professional sharing
  • Work collaboratively with members of the grade level team as well as administration, students, and families
     

Qualifications: Education degree, Masters preferred, and elemenatry teaching license preferred, experience with the Orton-Gillingham program and social-emotional teaching preferred

The Kindergarten through twelfth grade school psychologist will be a uniquely qualified and educationally certified individual that will assist the students in their learning and the teachers with their teaching. This person will apply expertise in mental health, learning, and behavior, to help children and youth succeed academically, socially, behaviorally, and emotionally. The school psychologist will partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments that strengthen connections between home, school, and the community.

  • Have a Master’s, specialist, or doctoral degree in school psychology or educational psychology development or related field;
  • Have experience with RULER
  • Be credentialed or currently licensed  at the state and/or national level to practice school psychology in a school setting. Individuals who are currently licensed as independent psychologists (with closely related experience) will be considered.

Development Database Coordinator

$17/hour

As the only Jewish day school in the Greater Kansas City area, HBHA is widely recognized as one of the country’s leading community schools bringing together children from varying Jewish backgrounds. We are a K-12 nonprofit school offering an outstanding Jewish and secular education, focused on the whole child.

HBHA’s development department continues to expand its donor base and requires a professional, detail-oriented manager adept at database work. Under supervision of the Director of Development, this position is primarily responsible for an accurate and updated database, reports derived from the database, stewardship correspondence and relationships with donors.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily management of the DonorPerfect database; donation processing, receipting, stewardship and pledge activity.
  • Accurate database updating, including reports and analytics to enable data driven strategic planning.
  • Manage monthly financial reconciliation with the business office.
  • Speaks, writes and works well with employees and donors.
  • Writes and edits reports, campaign collateral, acknowledgement letters.
  • Assists in the creation of development materials (e.g., thank you letters and invoices).
  • Assists with alumni tracking and provides support for fundraising campaigns and events.

Required Skills:

  • Experience with DonorPerfect preferred, but experience with a database is required.
  • Technologically proficient and skilled with spreadsheet and database software applications.
  • Able to work outside the normal schedule to support events and projects.
  • Handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Highly collaborative.
  • A self-starter, data and deadline driven, with ability to multi-task.
  • Detail oriented, able to prioritize and execute multiple projects with accuracy.

Substitute Teacher - K-12

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy is seeking a substitute teacher to fill in for teachers who are not able to teach their classes. The substitute teacher will arrive on time, follow modesty and professional dress, and establish rapport with the students and fellow staff members.

Ideal candidates will:

  • be cordial and responsible

Job Responsibilities

  • follow provided lesson plans
  • have behavior/classroom management skills and be able to perform duties such as lunch duty, hallway duty, room cleaning, and desk moving (as needed for classroom structure/lesson plan)
