Brief Description of Role
We are seeking a Kindergarten through twelfth grade certified School Psychologist to join our team of excellent educators. The School Psychologist will collaborate with teachers, students, parents and administrators on student mental health and well-being, child social development, and special needs within the K-12 scope of the school. This position reports directly to the principal of the Lower and Middle School. This is a full-time position.

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of staff training on mental health for students and faculty/staff alike
- Collaborate (verbal, written, in-person) with parents regarding behavioral/social-emotional needs of the students
- Collaborate(verbal, written, in-person) with outside therapists and agencies to implement strategies and coordinate in the best needs of the child
- Work with small groups or with individuals on skills needed to regulate within the school environment
- Create and lead small girl friendship groups/boy friendship groups
- Assist in leading the implementation of Sources of Strength (9-12) and RULER (K-12)
- Attend administrative meetings and Student Services team meetings to contribute relevant information for the betterment of the school community (faculty, staff, students)
- Plan and deliver crisis intervention when needed

HBHA seeks a dynamic Director of Development to lead and drive our fundraising efforts. As the primary architect of our development strategy, you will spearhead annual and endowment campaigns that ensure HBHA's financial strength and future growth.

Key Qualifications:
- Five years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, ideally in an educational setting. Knowledge of the Jewish community is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in both annual and major gift development, with a track record of securing six- and seven-figure gifts.
- Expertise in working within a philanthropic community, with deep knowledge of donor engagement, stewardship, and relationship building.
- Entrepreneurial mindset – a self-starter who can develop new opportunities.
- Strong leadership skills, comfortable as a hands-on practitioner and a strategic visionary, guiding a small team to success.
- Experience in planning and managing events of all sizes, from intimate donor meetings to large-scale community events.
- Experience working with and leading volunteer constituencies to achieve fundraising targets.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversight of comprehensive development plan, including endowment, capital, and any open campaigns.
- Annual Campaign Leadership: Design, implement, and manage the annual giving program, from donor communication and solicitation to stewardship, ensuring we meet or exceed our annual goal ($2.2 million).
- Endowment Campaign Execution: Collaborate with the Endowment Steering Committee to conduct the endowment campaign plan, solicit major gifts, and oversee all donor cultivation and tracking aspects.
- Major Gifts Solicitation: Take the lead on securing contributions and crafting compelling cases for support that resonate with high-net-worth individuals and other funders.
- Grant Oversight: Manage the full cycle of grant writing, submission, and reporting while actively pursuing new funding opportunities that align with HBHA’s mission.
- Leadership & Collaboration: Partner closely with the Head of School and administrative team to align development goals with school priorities. Supervise a Senior Philanthropy Associate and Database Coordinator to ensure seamless operations.
- Community Engagement: Actively cultivate relationships within the Jewish community and Greater Kansas City’s philanthropic landscape to expand HBHA’s visibility and donor base.

Brief Description of Role
We are seeking a Special Education Interventionist that can span Lower School and Middle School special education intervention needs. The ideal candidate will work closely with students, families, teachers, Director of Lower School Student Services, and Director of Middle School Student Services to provide targeted General Studies instructional support, interventions, and accommodations that help students with diverse learning needs succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. This role focuses on delivering high-quality interventions based on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), outside diagnosis, Acadience/progress monitoring, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure each student receives an equitable education.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, small-group, and/or one-on-one instruction to students with identified education needs.
- Implement evidence-based interventions in reading, math, writing, behavior, and executive functioning.
- Collaborate with General Studies teachers to differentiate instruction and ensure inclusive practices in the classroom.
- Support the development and implementation of Learning Plans; monitor student progress toward established goals and update documentation accordingly.
- Participate in parent meetings, student support team meetings, and parent conferences.
- Use Acadience testing to progress monitor to develop data-driven practices to assess student needs and adapt instructional strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of interventions, services provided, and student progress.
- Promote positive behavior support and social-emotional learning in the classroom and across school settings.
- Stay current on special education laws, best practices, and instructional strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education
- Valid teaching certification in Special Education
- Experience working with elementary-aged students with diverse learning needs
- Strong knowledge of IEP processes, progress monitoring tools, and instructional strategies
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Special Education, Intervention, or a related field
- Experience using data to drive instruction and interventions
- Training in programs such as Orton-Gillingham, Acadience
- Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy welcomes your application for the Substitute Teacher position at our K-12 Jewish Day School, located in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. HBHA is a community day school with two separate Jewish Studies options: Oren, for families looking for an Orthodox approach to education, and Erez, which is an egalitarian, pluralistic approach to Jewish education.
Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy is seeking a substitute teacher to fill in for teachers who are not able to teach their classes. The substitute teacher will arrive on time, follow modesty and professional dress, and establish rapport with the students and fellow staff members.
Ideal candidates will:

Job Responsibilities
- Follow provided lesson plans
- Have behavior/classroom management skills and be able to perform duties such as lunch duty, hallway duty, room cleaning, and desk moving (as needed for classroom structure/lesson plan)
HBHA substitute teachers make an hourly wage of $18/hour.
