Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy (HBHA) is an ISACS-accredited, independent K-12 Jewish day school located in Overland Park, Kansas. We are seeking a Lower School Teacher’s Assistant who is fluent in English and Hebrew and has the skill set and abilities to work within the K-5 Student Services Department. In this role, the teacher’s assistant will work with non-English speakers to provide conversational skills, beginning reading skills, and assistance across the subject areas. The teacher’s assistant will work closely with the Director of Lower School Student Services, the HBHA Principal, General Studies and Jewish Studies Classroom teachers, students, and families to provide an excellent academic experience that enhances the development of the school’s mission and provides opportunities for our students to engage in hands-on learning in a collaborative and respectful environment. We are seeking a candidate with excellent Hebrew and English written and verbal communication skills who is adept at planning, has attention to detail, and has enthusiasm for supporting the student’s academic journey.

Qualifications

  • Education degree
  • Fluent in Hebrew and English
  • Experience working with children
  • Teaching license preferred

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy welcomes your application for a Director of Philanthropy position at our K-12 Jewish Day School in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. This position reports directly to the Head of School. HBHA is a community day school where we live by our core values to provide the best for our students, including a strong academic foundation with individualized attention, all emanating from Jewish values. 

Overall Job Description/Responsibilities:

  • Member of the Administrative team, specifically working with Admissions & Marketing and for the Head of School
  • Grow relationships and gain working knowledge of the Jewish community and the Greater Kansas City community
  • Oversee the writing, submission, and presentation of all grants while actively finding new opportunities
  • Endowment Campaign: work with the Steering Committee to plan, communicate, solicit
  • Annual Campaign: develop program, communicate, solicit, steward
  • Fundraising events: schedule and plan everything from individual donor meetings to large-scale events with hundreds of attendees
  • Supervise a two-member team consisting of a Senior Philanthropy Associate and a Database Coordinator
  • Create, edit, and approve fundraising communications in all forms; print, email, text, social media
  • Connect to Community, Funding Organizations, Professional Development Groups, etc.

A qualified candidate:

  • demonstrate success at creating relationships, raising large gifts, providing stewardship
  • have fundraising experience
  • have a college degree
  • work well with staff, board and donors
  • prioritize workload, meet deadlines & supervise staff
  • understand the importance of professionalism and confidentiality
  • be available for evening and weekend work

A preferred candidate will have:

  • exceptionally strong organizational, writing, editing, and communication skills
  • event planning experience
  • DonorPerfect (or other CRM) knowledge
  • working knowledge of our K-12 Jewish day school, its staff, its families, and its students

Salary range: $80,000-$105,000 based on experience

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy welcomes your application for the Substitute Teacher position at our K-12 Jewish Day School, located in Overland Park, Kansas, a suburb of Kansas City, Missouri. HBHA is a community day school with two separate Jewish Studies options: Oren, for families looking for an Orthodox approach to education, and Erez, which is an egalitarian, pluralistic approach to Jewish education.

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy is seeking a substitute teacher to fill in for teachers who are not able to teach their classes. The substitute teacher will arrive on time, follow modesty and professional dress, and establish rapport with the students and fellow staff members.

Ideal candidates will:

  • Have a background in teaching
  • Have a degree in education
  • Share successful experiences working with students
  • Be cordial and responsible

Job Responsibilities

  • Follow provided lesson plans
  • Have behavior/classroom management skills and be able to perform duties such as lunch duty, hallway duty, room cleaning, and desk moving (as needed for classroom structure/lesson plan)

HBHA substitute teachers make an hourly wage of $12/hour.
