Athletics Director

Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy is a K-12 independent community Jewish day school in the heart of the Midwest serving the Greater Kansas City Jewish community for more than 55 years. We work in partnership with our parents and students to support the emotional, spiritual, academic, and physical growth of our students. The successful candidate will:

  • have a Bachelors’ degree (Master’s preferred) and a genuine interest in working as a Physical Education teacher at all grade levels
  • have experience leading an Athletic Department and developing and implementing health and physical education curriculum, as well as being a student advocate and advisor
  • demonstrate an innovative and energetic approach to leading and teaching
  • have awareness and knowledge of athletic participation and eligibility regulations, as well as a capability to guide coaches and teams towards student growth and success
  • be able to communicate effectively and efficiently with athletes, coaches, and parents regarding all aspects of athletic programming
  • take leadership for planning and scheduling all athletic competitions and coordinate these efforts with league participation and tournaments
  • be committed to professional growth and professional sharing
  • work collaboratively with administrators and teachers K-12 to provide a rich and integrated program and be a leader in the school community

  • Self-starter with judgment who can multitask,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational and time-management skills.

Qualifications: Physical Education degree and teaching license preferred, Athletic and coaching knowledge and background, experience coaching and teaching Middle and High School students preferred
