About Ruthie: After spending thirteen years at the HBHA as a student, Ruthie is thrilled to return to the community as a teacher. After graduating from the HBHA, Ruthie attended KU and received a degree in Geography, focusing on geographic information systems, before earning a master's degree from Rutgers University—Camden, where she graduated with distinction. A lifelong learner, she is always eager to explore something new—whether developing a new skill, diving into a new subject, taking on a new hobby, or traveling somewhere new. Most recently, Ruthie has taught herself computer programming, carpentry, surfskating, and crochet. When she’s not teaching, you can find her passionately talking about books and movies, hiking, listening to music, and playing board games with her family.
