Matthew Kavanaugh

About Matthew: A 2014 HBHA graduate, Matthew returns to the school as an Upper School Chemistry teacher while completing an MD-PhD program in anatomy and cell biology at KU. His journey in science began with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, and he has spent the last several years in an intense dual-degree program. Inspired by the rigorous education he received at HBHA, Matthew is excited to share his passion for scientific inquiry, especially the “why” behind natural phenomena, with his students. Outside of academics, he enjoys exercising at the JCC, playing Dungeons & Dragons, and painting miniatures.
